After migrating from the Bayous of Louisiana in a little town called Jennings, LeRoy and Lela Mae Cormier relocated to California where their family flourished into a party of five. The youngest of the Cormier’s five children, Shaun (Lashunda Cormier) inherited a passion for cooking inspired by both her late grandmother Lorena Riddeaux Pete and late mother Lela Mae Cormier.
Shaun envisioned cultivating an experience of good foods coupled with live entertainment in remembrance of her of the two women who inspired her.
Shaun opened the first restaurant, Louisiana Heaven which was located in Elk Grove in 2008 and closed the restaurant in 2010 to pursue her interest in festivals. After nine years of serving the community via festival, catering orders and expos, on July 20, 2019, Shaun reopened the doors of Louisiana in a new location.
Louisiana Heaven is now located at 6623 Valley Hi Drive in South Sacramento and managed by her daughter Jakayla. Louisiana Heaven is a black owned business, run and staffed by family that is here to serve our community and your family!
